  • Temperature Coefficient: 0.05%/C

The Total Dissolved Gas (TDG) sensor uses a pressure transducer mounted behind a rigid gas-permeable silicone membrane to measure the amount of total gaseous compounds dissolved in a liquid.

  • Range: 400 – 1300 mmHg
  • Accuracy: +/- 0.1% of span
  • Resolution: 1.0 mmHg

The Ion Selective Electrodes (ISEs) are available for measuring Ammonia, Nitrate, or Chloride.

Ammonia

  • Range: 0 to 100 mg/L-N
  • Accuracy: Greater of +/- 5% of reading, Or +/- 2 mg/L-N

Most common questions and answers:

Q: What are the differences between the OEM MS and the standard MS?

A:  The OEM MS design has several improvements over the standard MS:

    • The 8AA battery housing can be completely disassembled and reassembled which means low repair costs  in the future. For example, if the bulkhead connector is physically damaged it can be easily replaced in the OEM MS, however, for the standard MS the whole housing will need to be replaced.
    • If the batteries leak, the acid will interact with the metal springs and create a high pressure inside the battery housing, which causes the battery acid to be injected into the main housing and results in a total loss of the unit in the case of the standard MS. However, that will not happen with the OEM MS because it has a 500 psi seal between the battery compartment and the main housing.
    • The standard MS requires rubber bands to hold the batteries in place during installation. Because of the rubber bands, the battery housing sleeve is designed very thin which makes it susceptible to cracking. The OEM MS does not use any rubber bands and the battery sleeve is thick enough to withstand more field abuse.
    • The standard MS battery housing locking sleeve can be overlocked which causes the sleeve to crack. The OEM MS battery housing locking threads are positioned at the end with an automatic overlock protection to negate the above mentioned issue.
    • All internal connectors in the OEM MS are highly reinforced to minimize vibration affects.
    • The circuit boards inside the OEM MS are all reinforced with a proprietary process to maximize the ruggedness of the unit and the ability to withstand more field abuse.
    • The housing is fully assembled with no gluing and double o-ring seal for maximum ruggedness.

Q: What is the warranty on the OEM MS?

A:  HydroTech provides two years warranty parts and labor.

Q: What housing options do you have for OEM MS?

A:  There are two options: 8 AA battery housing and 4 AA battery housing.

Q: Can I use the Hydras 3 LT to communicate with the OEM MS?

A: Yes.

Q: Can I use the Hydras 3L Pocket software with the OEM MS?

A: Yes.

Q: Can I use my existing Hydrolab® cables to connect to the OEM MS?

A:  Yes. The standard OEM MS comes with the standard Hydrolab® 6 pin bulkhead connector.

Q: I do not like the standard Hydrolab® 6 pin bulkhead connector, can the OEM MS be fitted with a YSI® type connector?

A: Yes. The "OEM MS" can be fitted with an optional YSI® type bulkhead connector with recessed pins for maximum ruggedness and it will work with your existing YSI® cables.

Q: Does the OEM MS have internal memory?

A: Yes, it has enough internal memory for 120,000 measurements.

Q: Does the OEM MS support the LDO sensor?

A: Yes.

Q: Does the OEM MS requires internal batteries when used with the SVR4A®?

A:  No, the OEM MS does not require an internal battery pack when used with the SVR4® display. However, for extended use we highly recommend having the internal 8AA battery option, especially when the unit is equipped with optical sensors.

Q: Does the OEM MS require internal batteries when used with the Archer PDA?

A: No, the OEM MS does not require an internal battery pack when used with the Archer PDA. However, for extended use we highly recommend having the internal 8AA battery option, especially when the unit is equipped with optical sensors.

Q: Does the OEM MS require internal batteries when used with the computer ?

A:  When used with a computer, the OEM MS will require external power or an internal battery pack.

Q: When connected to a Datalogger, can the OEM MS still log data internally ?

A: Yes, the OEM MS can perform all the following tasks simultaneously:

    • Communicate with a PC or Handheld unit via RS232 or RS422
    • Communicate to a datalogger via SDI-12 or RS232
    • Log data to its internal memory up to 4 files at a time, even with overlapping dates

Q: What sensors configuration can I have on the OEM MS?

A: The OEM MS unit comes standard with temperature and conductivity sensors and you can add any combination of the following sensors:

    • pH
    • ORP (Redox)
    • Disolved Oxygen (Clark cell)
    • Dissolved Oxygen ( Optical sensor LDO)
    • Depth (25 or 100 m)
    • Total dissolved gas “TDG” mmHg
    • Self Cleaning turbidity
    • (Optional circulator for low flow measurement)
